The R-4985-20R detectable warning plates are designed to facilitate inclusive public spaces by making high-traffic areas safer and more accessible for the visually impaired. Built to CSA B651-12 and ASTM 1028 standards, these cast-iron tactile plates effectively signal changes in level or a transition from sidewalk to street and prevent slipping with grid-textured surfaces and truncated domes.
Each plate measures 24.2″ deep by 18.9″ wide and features a 20R radial edge designed for curved applications. They are engineered to withstand being ran over by heavy vehicles. Additionally, the plates are fully recyclable at the end of their life cycle. This item comes uncoated by default, and over time will form a natural patina from oxidization and moisture, which will provide an effective visual contrast from the environment.
